100% On-Time Delivery
Significant Project Delay Costs Avoided
0 Days Impact to Offshore Schedule
The Challenge
While providing quality management support for a major offshore project, critical equipment procured from an overseas manufacturer arrived at the fabrication facility with insufficient traceability and supporting quality documentation to demonstrate compliance with project specifications. A major non-conformance was raised, placing equipment load-out and offshore execution activities at risk. This highlighted the need for effective non-conformance management and adherence to ISO certification standards.
The Action
A root cause investigation identified deficiencies in supplier documentation and traceability controls. Collaborating closely with the supplier and project stakeholders, a corrective action plan was implemented that involved equipment re-testing, the issuance of compliant certification, and a thorough verification of traceability requirements. Through diligent vendor surveillance, audits, and documentation reviews, all corrective actions were successfully completed without impacting the project schedule.
The Results
✅ Major non-conformance successfully closed
✅ Full material traceability established
✅ Compliance with project specifications demonstrated
✅ Equipment loaded out on schedule
✅ Zero impact to offshore operations
✅ Significant delay costs avoided

100% Major Non-Conformances Closed
ISO certification Successfully Achieved
3 Months improvement program delivered
Following an external certification assessment, the organisation was issued with two Major Non-Conformances that placed certification at risk. Key findings included the absence of an effective internal audit programme, incomplete audit activities, and a lack of competent auditors capable of assessing compliance against ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements. In addition, the Integrated Management System contained excessive documentation, creating inefficiencies and reducing the effectiveness of key business processes.
A comprehensive review of the Integrated Management System was undertaken to identify gaps, improvement opportunities and compliance risks. A structured audit programme was developed and implemented, ensuring planned audits were completed and reported to senior management. Obsolete documentation was removed, document control processes were streamlined, and stakeholder engagement was improved through regular management system reviews. A compliance gap analysis was also conducted to evaluate regulatory obligations and strengthen governance arrangements across the business.
